I think psychological issues are included in the health subject so, among so many other topics pe & health covers, I believe mention should go to the topic of suicide. Any thoughts on that? Furthermore, is there any suicide programs/projects etc. out there that I can contribute to. If not, does anyone want to start something? This hits close to home for me & I want to do something about it. |

You could mention suicide as one of the topics in health. It is usually covered under the emotional health section that you would be teaching. When you do cover it in class you have to make sure you do it appropriately because some of the children might have already deal with the issue in life. |

There are suicide hot-lines where someone who is contemplating suicide or knows a friend who is thinking about it can go for advice or just to talk. The person remains unknown and can get thoughts off of his or her chest. Having someone to talk to can make a world of a difference. Teacher should give out the local suicide hot-line to all of their students. |
