I am promoting my new, educational game, The Dead Miles. On the surface, The Dead Miles is a game about surviving in a world filled with zombies. However, the underlying goal of the game is to teach about the health related components of Physical Fitness and calorie intake/output. It is not obvious that the game is a teaching tool, and that is the point! As soon as a kid suspects that something is educational, they tend to anticipate an unpleasant experience. I hope to use The Dead Miles to teach kids about fitness and metabolism without them realizing it. Here is a link to the download page: http://www.misterdonovan.com/deadmiles/ Here is a link with information on how the game can be used as an educational tool: http://www.misterdonovan.com/the-value-of-games/ I feel that there is a lack of entertaining and worthwhile educational software. This is especially true for Physical Education. Please consider passing my game on to people who might find it useful. It is free, and there is no advertising in the game, or on my website. I am a Physical Education teacher in New York City (The Bronx). I plan to use this program, along with carefully designed questions, as optional extra credit assignments. Although I encourage discussion about this software here, feel free to contact me through my site. Sincerely, A.C. Donovan |
