Which one of the measuring devices (Accelerometers, Pedometers, Cyclometers) is the most effective to incorporate into a physical education class? |

Definately an Accelerometer. Pedometers only measure on one plane and can be inaccurate, and cyclometers are usesless unless you have bikes in your program. Even though accelerometers may be more expensive then the others, the money is well worth it. |

I think any of the three measuring devices can be used effectively in a PE class. It depends on the amount of funding you have available to you. In an ideal situation, accelerometers would be the way to go because of the accuracy. If you have a limit on funds, I think a pedometer can be useful by having students use them during certain activities and keep track of the number of steps. As far as cyclometers go, if you are teaching some type of biking unit, they would be a great investment. |
