When I was in high school i don't remember ever hearing about compulsive addictive behaviors. I think this is a topic that needs to be covered in health classes because certain personalities are more prone to addiction. I belive this should be a part of mental health to allow students to be aware if they may already have some of these tendencies. |

I don't recall hearing about these behaviors either. It is important to educate kids/young adults about these behaviors in regards to health/fitness/nutrition. One specific area that is not talked about with mainstream addictive behaviors is exercise addictions, which can do serious damage to the body if the person is over-exercising. Anyone know of recent articles in regards to this? |

Well there are far worse things to be addicted to than exercise. Everyone is addicted to something. It is how we control out impulses and compulsions that decide whether we are healthy or not. Everything is bad if done too much. |

I actually just did some research on exercise addiction and found some great books on amazon discussing it ranging from children to adults. Also, if you just google "exercise addiction" you can find out a lot of information and how damaging it really is. |
