I think that students need to be taught the the importance of nutrition. Do you think that there is a difference in the students who eat a good breakfast as opposed to the ones that do not? |

The importance of eating breakfast should definately be stressed. Breakfast jumpstarts your metabolism and gives you energy for the day. I know myself, if I do not eat a healthy breakfast soon after waking up, I feel lazy all day and don't get much accomplished. It's that way for a lot of other people. A lot of PE classes are in the morning, so breakfast is the only meal before class for many students. That energy is crucial for participation. |

I agree. Breakfast not only helps you get a jumpstart to your day but it also helps you lose weight which is a huge concern with the growing obesity rates. When we sleep our body's metabolism slows down. By eating breakfast, it helps speed it up through out the day. Going without eating breakfast confuses our bodies. Our bodies think that we are still sleeping, causing our metabolism to act slower throughout the day. |

The importance of eating breakfast is definitley a topic of growing concern. It is a topic that needs to be hugely stressed first and foremost by the parents. By making your children get up an extra ten minutes earlier than what they would normally do and making them have breakfast will be very benefical not only to their body but to there school performance. I know that if I do not eat breakfast I can't get out of first gear and feel sluggish all day. |
