Many students misbehave for attention during class, the first thing you don't want to do is draw attention to negative behavior. Try and redirect the attention to a student that is behaving and completing the objectives correctly within the class. For example: Johnny is off task and misbehaving, Candace on the other hand is on task and not misbehaving, you as the teacher should say "hey, Johnny look at how Candace is kicking the soccer ball, can you do it just like Candace?" Many students will match their peers if they are challenged to. Also frequently making sure the students know and understand the importance of your expectations in the classroom or gymnasium to help prevent misbehavior. |
