As someone who actually has firsthand experience with this subject the biggest success I have had is just letting the person in question know that you are there...its a lonely position to be in, you don't want help and its a state of mind very difficult to change. Calling the person out on the problem could work, but moreso, the eating disorder stems from control issues and when you feel alone the best thing to hear is, hey i'm sticking by you for better for worse, but i need to know you're gonna try here or at least recognize the harm you're doing to your body. If they get angry at you and shun you, its part of the mentality...just stick with it. . . best of luck with your friend |
