With the growing rate of childhood obesity in America today I think it is very important to stress this is schools. I believe that PE classes should be longer or more days a week. Vending machines should be taken out of school or only be turned on after school is out. Also there are programs that are experimenting in schools with healthy lunches. They are taking away the fried food and replacing them with baked food and salads. Finally, I believe schools should start after school programs to promote physical fitness and hold meetings to educate parents on how they can help at home to reduce the risk of childhood obesity. |

Childhood obesity is definitely a problem. Technology is great but I think it is adding to the obesity problem, more than ever, kids are playing video games and computer games and not getting the physical exercise they need. You make a good point about longer PE classes, this would be great for kids, but realistically schools aren't going let PE classes be longer than any other course. Hopefully something will be changed in the future to help cut back child obesity. |
