I'm on a mission. My school system is beginning a performance pay system. My superintendant is wanting the PE teachers to provide ideas on what criteria we can be judged on to determine whether we should receive a bonus. These criteria need to be measurable and objective. I see my children one time/8 days for 45 minutes. I am the only teacher that administers the Presidential Physical Fitness Tests. However, I don't feel that the results of these tests show any of my worth as I don't see the children often enough to make a difference on these tests. My superindentant suggested that I be measured on a percentage of children that pass from one year to the next. No matter how excellent my program this still seems unreasonable. Any suggestions from those that are in a performance pay system??
Hello everyone, I am a student from Slippery Rock University. I have a degree in Exercise Science and I am working on a Physical Education and Health degree. I was curious to know what types of tests Physical Educators recommend for assessing muscular strength. The ones I know of are the pull-up/bend arm hang, bicep curl (Tri fit), and a hand grip dynamometer tests. Does anyone have any other tests?
