Should fitness testing be required for PE classes? If so what are some easy ways to test the students |

Fitness testing is important but whether we do that or we include some form of fitness into our curriculums, we need to get our students moving. We do a fitness unit and some things we test on are: 1 mile run, agility test, push ups, curl ups, sit and reach, and broad jump. I however feel as if we need to test them on a longer run because I find a lot of students find the mile a joke and don't take it seriously. |

I believe it depends on a child's age to determine if fitness testing should be done or not. Younger kids are not going to be interested in running a mile or doing push-ups. I think we need to focus on getting the children active and moving at a young age. And teach them some life long learning ways to stay active and fit. |
