I was wondering if anyone knew a way to prevent base running injuries during indoor whiffleball activities. Is there a way to seccure plastice or rubber bases without damaging the wood flooring? Let me know. Thanks |

One modification my high school physical education class made was to use mats as bases when playing kickball, whiffleball, etc. We also changed the rules to the game to make it more fun. More than one student could stand on the base at one time since it was such a large area. It was fun and a good way to prevent injury. |

Another modificaation that can be made is you can use poly spots instead of bases. I attentd SRU and in my Striking/Fielding class we used poly spots. They are much better to stick to the gym floor and prevent injury. However, poly spots are small, to increase safety have 2 for each base, make sure to use different colors. Specify before game play which color is for fielders/runners. |
