Isn't this a great time to encourage exercise , fitness and the Family Unit. With the failing economy and energy crunch , it is necessary to combine ideas and examples of ways to ride that perfect storm . Try listening to my podcast at my website for episode #40 at http://igreen.tripod.com/gerpe , along with many other episodes. If there are any questions buzz me at gcernicky@comcast.net |

Here is another " perfect storm" idea that has to do witht he Olympics. What a great time for the first week of school to extend the national pride with the Olympics and your classes! It would serve as an impetus of class unity and encourages fun, along with integratative activities.Try to keep it simple , be creative and add fun to ensure a great beginning of the school year. Encourage after school activities at home to include the family. Make medals .(ask the art teacher).Chose music.(ask the music teacher)and ask help with classroom teachers for some social studies. Bring out the scooter boards and beat Michael Phelps' records. Or make hurdles with folded mats . The sky is the limit and by keeping it simple makes for an easy transition. This is an opportunity that can't be passed up. And, the medal count brings in math. Everybody is a winner, just go for it? |
