The district that I teach in is currently constructing a new central elementary building. Classes have been spread out through the city in various school buildings and in one case 4 kindergarten classes are in the basement of the local Catholic church. The problem is when the weather is not conducive for pe classes to be held outdoors, I need to conduct my physical education classes in a very small and confined area. One idea I had is to have the children follow along with an exercise video that is geared for 5 and 6 year olds. Amazon.com doesn't really list an appropriate VHS tape. Does anyone have any knowledge of any tapes that I could purchase? I really would appreciate any help with this dilemma! |

I have tried several videos, and the only one I like to use is Fitness Express, second part only. This was sent out free several years ago by the Presidents Council on Physical Fitness & Sports, and has Arnold Schwarzenegger in it. It is "cool", easy enough for kindergarten to use, but fun for all. The best news is that is supposed to be copied and shared!

Tae Bo Junior rules, you may want to do a less bolistic warm up first, but the kids love it. |

I would recomend Tae Bo tapes by Billy Blanks. He has a variety of workout videos to accomodate to people of all ages and abilities. His videos are motivational, fun and make you work. They can be purchased almost anywhere on-line, and if that option doesn't work they have some of his tapes at Wal-Mart. |

Denise Austin has a DVD called Fit Kids. It is taught by Denise Austin with kids ages @8-15 in the background doing the exercises. My students love it! Barnes and Noble has it on it's website. |

I too have the Denise Austin's Fit Kids and it is great. Also any videos that have to do with dancing. My students love to dance so any music or vidoes that teaches the students about dancing is great. |
