I am new to this forum and to teaching physical education. I have taught first, third, and fourth grade the past twelve years. I coached track and field for eight years (up until the birth of my first born three years ago). I have always wanted to teach physical education and was excited when my district offered me the position after our teacher retired. I am set to start my coursework at a university next week, but I feel very "green" at the moment.I was excited to find answers to many of my questions by reading your past posts. Thank you!
So here is a very silly question that I have been waiting years to ask PE experts...I remember the song "Go You Chicken Fat Go," from my elementary years. Does anyone still use this song in their instruction? I loved it as a child, but the words "Go you chicken fat go" seem insensitive. I have asked my peers and have had mixed feedback as to whether or not it can be played nowadays. If it is in your archives I apologize for the redundancy. Thank you ahead of time for your response.
