At the elementary level, when should sport skills start to be introduced into the curriculum, rather then just playing the games? |

I believe the importance of teaching skills is extremely important at the elementary level. Playing the actual games is ridiculous if the children don't know how to perform the skills. Once basic skills for a "sport" have been practiced and children feel "successful" performing these skills, then is the time to play various lead up games that allow the children to use these skills and as they continue to build on their skills for a specific sport they will eventually be able to play the "real game" and appreciate and enjoy playing it.
