I am an avid cyclist and love the individual sport of cycling because it offers a great cardio work-out, intense muscle training and most of all; it’s fun! Cycling is not only a killer workout, it is a life-long activity for ages 7 to 87. I am excited about finding this awesome sport and want to show my future students how fun and healthy for your body cycling can be. What is a good way to do this?

Cycling would be amazing to incorporate into a PE class. I am into mountain biking and think it would be a great way to introduce students to lifetime liesure activities. I've been to schools where they have around thirty bikes and they just ride trails and around and over obstacles. The original cost of the bikes would be significant unless you got a grant but repairs and such will keep the cost of the class down if the PE teachers did them themselves. I think the best way to go about it is bring it up to administration and apply for a grant to see if you could start of a cycling or biking unit in PE.
