I was wondering how people feel about Physical Education Uniforms. Do you feel they are a good thing or a bad thing and why?

T shirt and gym shorts would be nice if they
have the time to dress and shower.

I believe that uniforms should be left out of P.E., simply because of the hygiene issue. Students normally have P.E. class several times a week, we should not assume that their clothes will be washed this often and students will be wearing dirty sweaty clothes over and over.

I am usually against uniforms, but i think in PE they would be a good idea. Students pay a little bit of money and get shorts and t-shirt with their school name on it. This helps make everyone look the same in PE and eliminates students making fun of others because of their dress.

Uniforms might not be the best way to go. I feel that having the students buy special school cloths is a way to just make the school money, and what happens to those kids who can't afford it? However, I do believe that activewear should be worn in class. Have the students where clothes that are school colors or are even just activewear. That way no one has to spend extra money and everyone is dressed for class.

My school district did not require uniforms, but at the elementrary level, I suggested to the PTO that they sell shirts and shorts with the school logo. I suggested to the students that they use them for physical education class. Some kids did and some kids didn't!

I feel that uniforms would be a good addition to PE but only to a certian point. By uniform I think that a pair of shorts and a t-shirt should be worn by every student. My high school tried going even further by saying you need to wear school colors but that never happened. So, I feel that the PE uniform should be more of wearing gym attire.

I do not think that uniforms would be a great idea in PE. There should be some type of dress code though such as a t-shirt and gym shorts. But to go as far as uniforms is not needed.

I think that pe uniforms arent a good idea. Kids should feel comfortable in the clothes they wear. It must be within reason of course. Such as shorts and a t shirt. Sweatpants if they want to. But with gym being more than once a week it would be to much trouble to keep cleaning gym uniforms.

I feel uniforms are beneficial for many reasons. Everyone looks the same when unforms are in affect, therefore people are not judged by there clothing. Another reason would be you know everday what your going to wear and you will be in athletic clothing.

I don't feel that uniforms in P.E should be mandatory. Gym shorts and t-shirts should be required. Uniforms wouldn't allow students to be free and wear what they want. As long as they are dressed for activity, it shouldn't be a problem

I think that having uniforms for P.E. is a good idea. By having every student wearing the same thing would eliminate students from being judged for not having the latest fashions. I also think that if students were required to wear uniforms it would cut down on the number of kids not dressing for class. At my high school if you didn't dress in gym attire you didn't get to participate that day in class, which isn't helping with getting kids more active at all.

I agree that having uniforms might cut down on students not dressing for class. I know there were a couple times I forgot my gym clothes and had to lose a couple points for not dressing. But uniforms might be hard to get depending on the PE budget or on students willing to buy them. If the school can get a decent price because they are ordering so many uniforms, then I think it would be a great idea.

In my highschool we had to buy our uniforms. 10 dollars for the shorts and 5 dollars for the shit. That never seemed right to me. If the school wants the students to wear a uniform thats one thing but I would expect to pay for one. I don't think wearing a uniform is a big deal at all. If thats what the school ask the students to do then they shouldn't have a problem doing it.

I think that having uniforms in P.E. could be a good idea. I think that when everyone looks the same, i.e. uniforms in P.E., they will feel less judged by their classmates. I also feel that if the students is wearing the clothes that the student wore to school in P.E., a student will not want to participate as much because they could get sweaty and smelly for the rest of the day.

I think that uniforms is a great thing to have in P.E. First of all, some kids do not bring clothes daily for physical education class which mean that they have to wear the clothes their in or not dress at all. Second, it will elimuinate jealousy between students on their clothes and/or personal hygiene.
