I was wondering if Laser Tag would be a good activity to do in a PE class? Has anyone ever tryed this before?

I think Laser Tag would be an excellent activity for a Physical Education class. The only thing about it is how are you going to get the equipment. I think the way to go about it is to try and rent equipment first, see how it goes with the kids, and if it is successful, go for it. The best way to get the equipment would probably be through grant money or possibly even sponsorship. Laser Tag could easily be played in a gymnasium by turning off the lights and placing tumbling mats, cheese wedges, or any other type of equipment that could be used a barriers. The objective of a Laser Tag game would have to be one that everyone needs to be moving in. A capture the flag game would be suitable because it would motivate kids to be active, rather than seeing who gets hit the least number of times. I'm sure there would be more than a few kids hiding behind the barriers for a while if you do things that way. Overall, I think that Laser Tag would be awesome and kids would love it.

I believe that laser tag can be a good activity in the classroom, as long as it is not taken out of context. I believe this could be a way for the students to have fun, and also get their heart rates up. The only thing to watch out for would be to make sure the students are only using the equipment as a tag game, and not improperly using the equipment in ways you can imagine. One would definitely have to check with the district in which they teach to see if the activity can be used.

I think laser tag would be a good activity for a PE class. Depending on the class size and the students, I think it would be something worth trying. It would be hard to do with a big class I think, what I would do is give the class some options of activities to do and put laser tag in there and see how many students pick laser tag as an activity.
