To motivate team spirit and good sportsmanship every time a field day team exhibits these characteristics a teacher or volunteer should give the team a "spirit stick" (popsicle stick). This gives the students something tangible instead of a "good work" or "good job". At the end of field day the spirit sticks would get counted up and which ever team gets the most spirit sticks would be announced and receive some type of reward. For example, best spirit t-shirts. |
