When I was in elementary school, we had the typical tug a war, potatoe sac races, scotter races, and such. When i went to observe an elementary school, they did a game called builders and bulldozers. Its when you take the group and split them up evenely, on the whistle the students run around and the bulldozers knock over the cones with their hands while the builders stand all the cones up. At the whistle they stop and count how many are up and how many are down. this determines the winner. These type of games include a group of winners and not just one. Do you have any other game ideas? |

I have used a Field day model entitled, "Friendship Games" that uses a whole set of non-traditional & fun activities in a combined format with grades 1-5. I have put together a description of 40-50 activities and some of the basic paperwork to manage the event. If anyone would like me to send it to you, please feel to request it via e-mail. My e-mail address is roskampm@gvsu.edu. |
