I believe if you look good and you feel you, you play good. Does this only apply to game day situations? I was thinking about implementing a dress code for practice. Our colors are maroon and white with alot of gray and black. Maybe having our team wear one of those colored tee shirts with black shorts or pants for high school softball practice. Maybe just to have a little bit more stucture. This will also stop some girls from wearing low cut or very tight fitting clothing to practice if a dress code is put in place. What are your thoughts? |

I feel this is a great idea for practice. It will stop the inappropriate clothing from being worn to practice. Also with the colored t-shirt idea you can use that to your advantage in splitting them up into little teams for drills or games. When it comes to looking good while you play makes your game better. I would have to agree with that because it makes you feel more like a professional so you want to play better and try your best to fit the nice uniform you are wearing. |

I really like the idea of a dress code at practice. If you look like a team it helps to play as a team. This also helps with scrimmage situations if you color coordinate certain teams or players. |

I played different sports all throughout high school, and we always had a dress code. For my basketball team, each player had to wear our practice jersey, which was reversible (white on one side and black on the other). We all wore black practice shorts and our team shoe which everyone on the team had to have. We looked like a team whether we were practicing, traveling to games, or playing in a game. It makes everyone on the team feel unified and makes sure that no one on the team feels superior to anyone else. Everyone looks the same. |

My belief is that you practice as a team and you play as a team. Although throughout my many years of many different team sports we never had practice uniforms, however I would never have been opposed to them. For one, it helps the team to know what to pack and less stress on what matches. Also, not one person will win the game for the entire team, therefore, looking as a team all the time helps everyone remember that. The downside to having practice uniforms on top of playing uniforms means that the team will either have to buy all the uniforms, or the team will have to fundraise in orfer for everyone to match. Also, in order to match, does that include shoes and equipment as well? Or just tops, bottoms, socks, etc? The overall idea of uniforms all the time is excellent, but some logistics of it may cause a commotion for some. |

I think it is a great idea to have a dress code for practices. Not only do you look good and feel good, this practices responsibility, discipline, and professionalism. You do not have to worry about one player trying to look “cooler” than the others. You are dressing like a team, playing like a team, and practicing like a team. This may also bring the players closer together as a team! |
