What are you thoughts on parents coaching their childrens little league teams. Very rarely have I experienced a parent who hasn't given their son/daughter special treatment on the team. Do you believe parents should not be allowed to coach their childrens teams?

Some parents are excellent and fair coaches, and there are some that are not.

I think it is ok for parents coaching their children’s little league team or even grade school team. My dad coached my baseball team and I know if I messed up he would not hesitate to sit me.

I think parents should be allowed to coach their children's teams. My dad coached my team when i was young and i guess he did things differently then most, he did not treat me special and sometimes i think he treated me worse. i think my dad loved coaching me and it let us spend some quality time together. Another reason parents should coach is that a lot of times communities have a hard time finding parents willing to give up their time to coach.

I have coached my daughter's soccer team for many years and she didn't mind the fact that I was there. It was a great way to spend time with her and her friends while helping them play the actual game. I think you may find it hard to find people that will coach a team without their son or daughter on it. The reason they coach is for the love of their children and the sport.
