I coached tennis for my high-school team while I attended a community college near my house. I was only about 1 to 4 years older then the girls on my team, depending on their age, and some of them were very disrespectful towards me because I was only a little older then them and I think they thought they could take advantage of me. How can I earn their respect? Any suggestions at all would be helpful, thanks! |

To earn their respect, make sure you do not treat them as your friends. In high school, I had young teachers who would try to be friends with their students they liked by joking around with them constantly, letting them do whatever they want, and letting the students talk to them however they want. If someone says something disrespectful to you or crosses the line, discipline them immediately and nip it in the bud right away. They will learn to respect you. |
