Should 2 a day practices continue through the school year to help give an edge against a better opponent?

No, that would involve the students having to practice once before school and once after school. There body needs rest with football being a very physical sport. A team should be able to prepare properly with one practice a day between two and three hours a night after school. Education comes first in school not athletics, so having two practices a day would almost become a job for the students putting their studies second.

Two a day practices shouldn't be allowed during the school year. Having these practices will drain the players of their energy. The players will then probably do poorly in school because all of their focus will be towards football and trying to get through these football practices. Also, if a player is failing a class or two, the school may suspend him from playing due to his grades. Two a day practices are only appropriate during the summer where the players can fully focus on their sport.

I do not believe that 2 a day practices should be allowed during the school year. As a former high school football player I know the drain 2 a day practices have on your body. Ive seen many injuries occur during 2 a days, and they are only for 2 weeks long. I do believe that 2 weeks worth of 2 a days is essential to football but extending them to all season is not necessary and may even be dangerous to the athletes body as well as their school work. However, I think that another form of 2 a days could be very beneficial to football players. If athletes have a morning practice devoted to lifting and/or recovery with a trainer it could be very beneficial to the team. Athletes will continue to gain strength during the season which is very important. And, by offering a morning recovery session players have another chance to heal any injuries. 2 a day practices should be limited to 2 weeks but I think that another form of 2 a days may actually be beneficial to athletes.

No, two a days put a physical strain on the athletes in a physical sport. You see alot of the injuries happening during this time because the body can't take the strain of everything. You add schoolwork once the school year starts and you are playing with fire.
