Being a college athlete, my coach has us all lifting the same weights. With everyone at different levels and different body weights, it is easier for some and more difficult for others. What do you suggest is the best way for a coach to lead lifting? Should they have each athlete "max out"? What is the safest way for athletes to lift? |

I am part of Slippery Rock Universitys track team and for lifting we all have to do the same workout 3 days a week. My coach leads our lifting sessions by making up a lifting schedule thats the same for each one of us, and depending on each of our individual abilities, we pick the amount of weight to lift. We have to max out twice a year and I think it helps show the progress that we have made. I think 3 times a week is the safest way to lift and no lifting before games or meets. |
