Whay is it to me that no matter the sport there is always the parent or two that seem to always compain about their childs playing time or position. If you play them here, you should have played them there, or if they played 3/4 of the game, they should have played the entire game. I f parental involvement could be managed I believe that everyone would have a better time. |

Every parent thinks their kid is the next Great One even if they are the worst kid on the team. It is just natural to have parents complaining, it has always happened and will never stop. As a coach you have to tell the parents that they are not the coach and to let you do your job. I agree, without parents youth sports would run more smoothly than they do now |

Sometimes parents get caught up in trying to get little Jr. exactly what they think is best for him no matter what. I believe one thing you could try to do to manage the parental complaints would be to have a meeting at the beginning of the year with all the parents. You will have to explain to the parents that you appreciate their concern for their children, however at the end of the day it is your responsibility to make the best decisions for the team. Sometimes the best decision for the team is for a certain player to play a different position, or maybe even not at all that game. Parents need to understand that while everyone wants to play in the game, if their child isn't in the game its not like their child isn't doing anything. Practice is very important in sports, and their child is getting to have the opportunity to practice. |
