In the elementary level of children’s physical education most times if not they were taught the proper skills and motor movements for certain team sports. However, this is not enough practice/education for them to obtain a higher achievement level in their athletics. This is where I get into the argument that children should not be cut from a try out or team during their elementary years because this is a time for gaining confidence. I understand that money could be the issue during this time of an economic collapse; however, playing team sports will teach the children motor cognition and gain the development to reach skills at appropriate age levels. Also, not to mention they will be gaining the proper physical activity and will be lowering the obese and overweight rate. Then, as the children gain confidence and the love for the sport their skills will improve and will gain the confidence they need to be an athlete. This is why I feel children should never be cut from any team sport. They need to stay active and be active, their motor skills will be developed, and the students will play with their peers and learn the dynamics of team work leading them to become a better student and athlete to excel in High school level sports and in the classroom because it will improve cognition and confidence.
