Over the years, stretching or tearing of the ACL has become more common because the amount of people participating in sports has increased significantly. I believe that coaches and PE teachers need to stress prevention of ACL injuries more often. In addition to talking about prevention, what are some drills we can enforce in our everyday warm up to help prevent ACL injury? |

There are many drills that help prevent ACL tearing. Drills such as high knees, stretching of the knees, and learning how to land softly when jumping. These are a couple examples of how to prevent ACL tearing. |

ACL injuries are a pain in the you know what, however, it is most common in women who participate in sports because of the widening of the women's pelvis. Mainly stating, women are differently shaped than men. For sports that require stopping quickly, cutting sharply, and landing and changing direction when both feet are planted are calling out for an ACL injury. I agree with past two postings, injury prevention and strengthing are a must have for trying to avoid an ACL injury. |
