I assistant coach tennis for my old high school, where I used to play doubles. I now coach doubles, can anyone give me some good doubles drills for high schoolers?

I played tennis throughtout highschool in the #1 position and when I started college, I attended a community college nearby my house and coached my highschool JV team. I have a couple of good doubles drills to share with you.

*You can do this drill with 2 or more people and make it a race, or you can do it alone. Start at one sideline of the court and sprint to centerline of the court. Touch the line with your hand and sprint back to the starting line and touch that line with your hand. Then turn around and sprint to the first doubles line and touch the line with your hand and go back to the start. After the first doubles line go to the outside doubles line. If you want to go further start using the next court and run both courts. This drill helps to develop your foot speed and your speed for quickly turning around and moving the opposite direction. You can carry your tennis racquet if you like during this drill as well.

*Two people stand at the baseline and two people stand at the net. The two players at the net are a doubles team and the two players at the baseline are a doubles team. One person feeds the ball and everyone plays out the point. This drill helps improve your doubles skills. Play a game in which the first team to reach eleven points wins. Once one team reaches eleven points, switch and have the team who was at the baseline be at the net and the team that was at the net move to the net.

Hope these work out for you!
