Is it true that new top of the line heart rate monitors can store heart rate data and, with an interface, actually transfer data from the heart monitor to a personal computer?

Yes it is. I am a Physical Education Major at Slippery Rock University and we have heart rate monitors that can do just that. You can print the data right off your computer.
