It's not only important to educate the students on the importance of Physcial Education but it's also important for the communities to start becomming more involved with what Physical Educators do. What are some good ways to include the parents and the rest of the community with your Physical Education class? |

I feel it is a good idea to make your students and parents well aware of what you are teaching in your PE classes as well as any other extra curricular activities you may be involved in. This includes sending out newsletters, brochures, and flyers out to the neighboring community. Also try and hold some Parent Teacher Organization meetings to help inform the parents more about whats going on in the school. |

I agree with keeping the parents updated on what their child is doing on PE class. I think newsletters and community flyers are a great idea. I also think you should host Family fitness nights. Maybe 1 or 2 nights a week open the gym or a church basement up for families to come and participate in physical activity. Allowing the child to see his/her family particiapting and demonstrating how important it is to be active will benefit the child's activity level. |
