I am a junior in college. My major is physical and health education with a minor in adaptive physical activity. As i am getting closer to the time to face the real world I am getting nervous about everything. I know that i still have a year but i would like to start getting ready. I am loving the the experiences that I am having with students who have a disability already but i still get nervous. So i s there any advice for me as to what I should do to prepare myself for teaching students that may have a disability? |

You should definitely not be nervous. Teaching APE was something I stumbled upon and I absolutely love it now! I cannot imagine myself teaching anything else. I was a BA of Science and after I got the APE job, I decided to get my Masters in Special Education. Good Luck!

Like Tara I to stumbled upon Adapted PE and love what I do. When I graduated it was a new field and I had already had a health minor. when I had the opportunity to teach APE 10 years later I went back to school for it. I have been teaching adaptied PE for 15 years and still love going to work everyday!!!! |
