I am not yet a teacher but I wonder how critical it is to have good training in adapted fields before you start into the profession. My college offers an adapted minor, does anyone think that this is something I should try to achieve before finishing school? |

It would be advantageous to have an adapted background, you can be more marketable. |

Even if you are hired as a regular physical educator in a school district, you often are in a situation where you have adapted students in your classes. I had them mainstreamed as well in a separate class. You will find the training to be most valuable. |
