I use pedometers/activity timers as a means to measure student effort in my 4th and 5th grade classes on a daily basis. Does anyone have an suggestions for a way to reach out to families at home who already have pedometers? Like web-based programs etc. that I could direct them to??? Thanks. |

Have you tried the company that you purchased your work pedometers through? I know that Walk 4 Life has some resources and there are numerous web sites that have a way to track the number of steps. I would also suggest that you create a excel template of tracking the steps. You could post it on your school web site or a teacher web site and allow the parents or students to download the template and keep track of their steps on their own. |

I tell my parents to go to pecentral.org and use the Log It program. It is geared towards 3rd grade and up and I just tell the parents to create their account much like a teacher would do for their classes. They can also do the Coleman challenge right now at pecentral. |
