I think more physical education classes need to include lifetime activities. My PE classes consisted of mostly team sports that could only be done until early adulthood or so. What are some lifetime activities that could be included in PE? Some lifetime activities that I have experienced include, bowling, archery, bocci, and golf. Any other suggestions?

Just walking around our community we have frisbee golf courses (I always see a variety of people there)in addition to some that were already listed. Dance is also big right now amongst all populations. It's just finding the right fit. Seems like there are a variety of activities to choose from now.

Geocaching is a lot of fun and a great reason to go for a long walk. Kids love it and I know a number of adults who do it every weekend, so it's a lifelong activity.

It uses a GPS (a lot of cell phones include them now) to locate a cache with a free prize in it. There are websites that provide the coordinates.

There's an article on Geocaching at:

I think that it is important to incorporate lifetime activities into the lesson plan because it will help people stay active their whole life even when they are older.
