I recently began my student teaching in High School, and have been struggling with the football players who leave the class to go ice their injuries. I talked to the students and told them they need to show up and participate or they will not receive credit, but I am still having trouble with their attendance. Any suggestions? |

I'm sure your school has some ineligibility rules. If they don't come to class, they fail PE class, and then can't be involved in sports. |

My high school was the same way when I went there. Most of the football players used excuses like that in order to not participate. None of my teachers however would do anything about it because most of them were coaches. I agree that if they don't come to class, do not give them credit, and they will fail and not be able to play football. |
