I've just begun my secondary student teaching. Beginning Monday 1/30, I'm going to have to teach Darts and classes in the Weight Room. Does anyone have any suggestions for either? More importantly, in the weight room. Please let me know asap as I have to start writing my lesson plans.
Thanks,
Jaime

I have about 4 or 5 years of experience lifting weights. I think a good rule of thumb to follow is the younger your students are, the similar the exercises chosen must be. For example, an advanced lifter would probably do squats with a barbell. This can easily be modified to doing squats with lightweight dumbbells. It is easier and safer for the students. The most important thing to remember is safety. Lifting can be very dangerous and proper spotting and lifting techniques must be stressed throughout your unit.
