At a high school that i attended, we recently recieved a new floor. However, during the physical education classes, we were restricted as to what we could and could not do. our teachers couldn't put tape down, we couldn't play hockey, and various other activities because it would mark up the new floor. My question is, what is a PE teacher supposed to do now? |

If this is the case then use all nerf related equipment. The softer implements will not mark up the gym floor and you can still play the sports you want. As for an alternative to tape, use cones or polyspots to mark the floor out. |

Funny that protecting the newness of a new floor is more important than the physical education curriculum. Are they in the running for the newest looking floor competition? |

We had new floors installed in both of our high school gyms over the summer. Although they are brand new and look very nice, we still do everything on them that we always have. For example we play floor hockey on them, Do bicycle introductions on them and even Inline Skate on them. It is our philosophy that the floors are there to be used. I can't really believe that they would put the value of new floors over the value of a quality program. |

I know what you're talking about here. This happened at our high school as well and we couldn't do everything we wanted on the floors till basketball season was over. Since it has changed because many people were going crazy over this but when this happens you just have to change your curriculum and teach things according to the rules |
