There is an excellent article in the Journal of Physical Education Recreation and Dance (JOPERD), Oct. 2005. The article is called "Beyond Games, Gadgets, and Gimmicks - Differentiating Instruction Across Domains in Physical Education." If you are a member of AAHPERD, you get JOPERD mailed monthly. If you haven't already joined, what are you waiting for? Single issues can be ordered for $14 from AAHPERD 1900 Association Drive, Reston, VA 20191 phone 703-476-3400. In the meantime, a good start would be to modify games and equipment to meet challenges at different ability levels. Allow the students to choose various types of equipment, choose different levels of play, and create many small group activities.
