How do you get secondary kids to be honest when using pedometers?

Really it is hard to get them to be honest. Because they all know they can shake it is what I assume you mean by them cheating. Instead of doing a whole day's worth of steps, maybe just do while they are in school. Therefore you will have the teachers to make sure there is no cheating.
