As trained physical education teachers, we learn the differences in teaching young children and students of high school age. The difference in attitudes and capabilities is dramatic, but what about the age group between. Middle school students are making the transition between childhood and adulthood. Many of the kids are sensitive toward their changing body and their ability to adapt classes including physical activity. What kind of activities could a phys ed instructor offer to better comfort the students at the beginning of the curriculum? What kind of activities would make the students better cooperate and participate as a unit? |
