First you would have to decided what skill you where going to teach first, dribbling, passing, or shooting. I would start with dribbling because it is one of the largest parts of the game. When teaching dribbling remember the critical elements of using finger tips, flexible wrist, ball out in front and to the side, and eyes up. |

Dribbling -- use cones seperated about 2 meters apart, creating a line down the gym floor. Make them weave down through the cones, using the right hand, back with the left hand. Shooting -- line kids up for layup drills from both elbows (right and left side), both hands. Free throw shooting -- Align kids along the blocks where the players would be in the game, give each student two free throws, clap when made. Passing -- Organize two lines on the baseline. Students should be facing each other. Two at a time, shuffle down the gym floor, alternating bounce passes and chest passes until reaching the other baseline. |
