Christine Stopka, Ph.D., ATC/L, CSCS, CAPE, MTAA, Associate Professor,
has taught at the University of Florida in the areas of Special Physical
Education, Exercise Therapy, and Athletic Training since 1982. She established
the graduate and undergraduate specialization programs in Special Physical
Education and Athletic Training. She founded the UF Exercise Therapy
& Special Physical Education Laboratory and the UF Student Injury
Care Center, an athletic training center for all students on campus.
She is an NATA Certified, licensed Athletic Trainer, an NSCA Certified
Strength and Conditioning Specialist, an APENS/NCPERID Certified Adapted
Physical Educator, and an AAHPERD/ AAALF Master Teacher in Adapted Aquatics.
She has published over 100 books, articles, abstracts, software and
videos and has received over 60 university, state, national, and international
honors for her work in teaching, research, service, leadership, and
humanitarianism in the field.
